The soft calender is divided into four-roll double press area and two-roll single press area. The double press area soft calender is composed of two pairs of roll body installed on the steel frame structure.The soft and hard rolls are separately on the up and down of two press area. It could calender uniformly on both sides of the paper. It could also calender two times uniformly on the front or on the back.Principle
The soft rolling zone is composed of a chilled cast iron roll which can be heated and regulated, and a soft roll which can control medium height and whose shell is coated with elastic material. The surface of the soft roll deforms under the pressure, which makes the pressing area contact with each other, so that the pressure per unit area is low, and the paper surface is treated mildly. Therefore, the paper sheet is finished evenly and the loss of loose thickness is less. According to the size of roll diameter, the hardness of soft roll coating material and the applied pressure, the width of soft roll calendering zone can reach 5 ~ 10 mm, which is 5 ~ 8 times of paper machine calendering (hard pressing zone), and the unit pressure is generally 20 ~ 40 N / mm2. Even if the line pressure of soft calender is higher, the unit pressure is only 1 / 3 ~ 1 / 4 of that of paper machine calender.Features

Compared with ordinary paper machine calender, it has the characteristics of increasing smoothness, reducing bulk thickness loss and maintaining paper strength.Because of the springback of the soft roll surface material, the roll surface can adapt to any bad evenness and quantitative change of the paper web, so it can have more uniform smoothness and uniform tightness than the conventional hard calender.Another advantage of soft calendering is that the web can run under the condition of high moisture on the premise that the problems of black pressing and stain are basically eliminated. This is not only conducive to the calendering and finishing of the web, but also keeps the moisture content of the paper roll higher.
